The Brooks Historical Society was organized on October 22, 2003. The Society is dedicated to the preservation and understanding of the town’s heritage and will promote the study, appreciation and interpretation of local history. Our nonprofit organization is funded by memberships and donations. The Brooks Historical Society is a member of the Maine Association of Museums (MAM).

In 2025, monthly membership meetings will be held beginning in June in the Menard Barn from 3pm-4pm following Open Houses.
